In fact, some gifts can cause you to reap such a whirlwind of wrath that you are often better off forgetting to get her a gift \u2013 that\u2019s right, forgetting her on an occasion is preferable! You know they have to be bad if that\u2019s the case. Below are just ten examples of the worst possible gifts you could get for your significant other, but this list is hardly complete. Remember: use your best judgment, and then ask for permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>10. Diet Book<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"525\" height=\"377\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/foodpyramid.png\" alt=\"FoodPyramid\" class=\"wp-image-107\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/foodpyramid.png 525w, https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/foodpyramid-300x215.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Nothing says, \u201cI\u2019d like to be in trouble please,\u201d like getting a diet book for your girlfriend. Even if she is currently following that diet or has expressed interest in the diet, even if she owns a hundred different volumes on said diet, this is a terrible idea. There is only one conclusion that she will draw from this gift, and it is not, \u201cOh, he sees what interests me,\u201d or \u201cOh, he cares about my weight.\u201d No, it is, \u201cHe thinks I\u2019m fat!\u201d You do not think she is fat. Enjoy telling her this for months if not years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>9. Regardless of what it gives advice on, this will only add to her insecurity. If you haven\u2019t seen her insecure, you certainly don\u2019t want to start now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>8. Hair Dye<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"262\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/hairdye.png\" alt=\"HairDye\" class=\"wp-image-113\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/hairdye.png 262w, https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/hairdye-250x300.png 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 262px) 100vw, 262px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Is she going gray? Is she practically white-headed? Do you hate the color of her hair? Even if you buy the same product she herself uses, this will also only serve to make her insecure. Are you starting to sense a theme here? Never get your girlfriend gifts that will add to her insecurities regarding her appearance or personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>7. Gifts should be things the recipient can enjoy, things that will bring them pleasure and joy for years to come, or at least something they can enjoy immediately. A vacuum cleaner, on the other hand, brings up all kinds of baggage about the patriarchy, gender roles, and the suggestion that she can\u2019t keep a clean house. Now we\u2019re back to insecurity, and you\u2019re back in the dog house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>6. Cooking Supplies<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"441\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/cookingsupplies.png\" alt=\"CookingSupplies\" class=\"wp-image-111\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/cookingsupplies.png 441w, https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/cookingsupplies-300x231.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 441px) 100vw, 441px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is pretty much the same as a vacuum, but instead of saying, \u201cClean the house!\u201d it says, \u201cGet back in the kitchen!\u201d Either way, you\u2019re sending the wrong message, and it\u2019s one she will receive loud and clear. What you receive will probably be the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>5. Gym Membership<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"327\" height=\"246\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/gymmembership.png\" alt=\"GymMembership\" class=\"wp-image-112\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/gymmembership.png 327w, https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/gymmembership-300x226.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 327px) 100vw, 327px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a far more intense version of #10. Getting her a gym membership is like saying her weight is an emergency situation, and that she needs to do something about it immediately. Include a personal trainer and you\u2019re just begging for a fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>4. Stripper Pole<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"228\" height=\"304\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/stripperpole.png\" alt=\"StripperPole\" class=\"wp-image-115\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/stripperpole.png 228w, https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/stripperpole-225x300.png 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 228px) 100vw, 228px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There are so many things wrong with this we don\u2019t even know where to start. There\u2019s the exercise angle, of course \u2013 yet again, you\u2019re saying they need to exercise. That is, of course, if they\u2019re into stripping-as-exercise. On the other hand, there\u2019s the sex object angle, and that probably isn\u2019t her idea of a great gift. Get her something that she\u2019ll love, not something that you\u2019ll love. Same goes for lingerie, fellas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>3. Cash<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"452\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/cash.png\" alt=\"Cash\" class=\"wp-image-110\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/cash.png 452w, https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/cash-300x199.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 452px) 100vw, 452px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The only thing worse than a check is cash. There\u2019s no heart, no thought, no love in a cash gift. Avoid it at all costs and instead go with something that speaks to the connection between the two of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>2. Personal Hygiene Supplies<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"217\" height=\"217\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/personalhygienesupplies.png\" alt=\"PersonalHygieneSupplies\" class=\"wp-image-114\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/personalhygienesupplies.png 217w, https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/personalhygienesupplies-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 217px) 100vw, 217px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only is this lame, but there isn\u2019t a person on this planet who won\u2019t get the same message: \u201cYou stink,\u201d \u201cYou\u2019re dirty,\u201d and \u201cYou need to clean yourself up.\u201d You wouldn\u2019t be dating her if any of this were true, so why send this message? Even if she complains about the cost of this stuff or could always use more, let her buy it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>1. Anything Practical or Sensible<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"299\" height=\"449\" src=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/anythingpracticalsensible.png\" alt=\"AnythingPracticalSensible\" class=\"wp-image-109\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/anythingpracticalsensible.png 299w, https:\/\/www.loveisarose.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/anythingpracticalsensible-200x300.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 299px) 100vw, 299px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A gift certificate for glasses, a class on CPR, a new set of tires for her car, a life insurance policy\u2026 all of these and many more are terrible ideas.
