A friend of Angelina, Wichita, KS, called LoveIsARose.com recently. She talked with owner Sid Fey and told him the story of the recent burglary in which Angelina’s beloved rose in a museum case was taken. Her husband, stationed in Afghanistan in the Air Force, gave her this rose when he proposed to her in 2011. Here is Angelina’s story.
“The reason that Justin had gotten me this rose in the first place was the fact that I don’t really wear jewelry. He didn’t know my ring size and he wanted to surprise me when I came back from pre-deployment training. While we were dating, he would randomly drive an hour out of his way to a little flower shop that sold blue roses and bring them to me while I was on duty. The fact that he was able to get one from you (LoveIsARose) in 2011 for me was perfect. The engraving on the museum case said:
You are my everything, my heart and soul. I don’t know what I would ever do without you. You always make me happy when I see you, hear your voice no matter what. And I know you could do better than me, but for some reason you have chosen to be with me. I love you more than you will ever know. I know I don’t tell you enough how beautiful and perfect you are! I can’t picture myself with anyone else for the rest of my life, so “Will you marry me?” and make me the happiest man on earth!
Every day, I look at my mantle and see it not in its place; it breaks my heart every time.”
This story does have a happy ending! Sid Fey decided to create a new rose with museum case and engraved message plate and sent it to Angelina. Angelina’s response:
“Thank you so much for this. I cannot begin to show my gratitude to you. I could probably thank you for the rest of my life for doing this for my husband and especially me. Again, thank you so much. You really did not have to do this, but the fact that you want to, makes me feel so much better. So honestly, thank you so much… Sorry if I thank you too much, but I just don’t know what other words to say.”
